The second-hand marketplace Members Express Displeasure About Size Modifications
Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information.
The second-hand shopping app has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Digital Channels Response
Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping.
The platform stated the new system was more in line with similar services.
The platform has recommended to review their products and manually change the size if necessary, which has left users frustrated.
Sizing System Modifications
Previously, the sizes had both one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.
User Accounts
One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she explained.
Necessary Adjustments
A different user, located in England, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she explained.
Marketplace Information
The app has more than 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: last year, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
